Safeguard Executives Help Navigate Franchisors to Stronger Future

Safeguard Business Systems, Inc., is no stranger to helping small business owners navigate the challenging business world. Safeguard's Vice President of Franchise Development R. Scott Sutton, CFE, continued that effort by serving as chairman of the 2011 Emerging Franchisor Conference, a seminar designed to help emerging franchisors strengthen systems, growth and relationships.

"I was deeply honored to serve not only as chairman of the conference, but also to help emerging brands gain more knowledge on growing in ways that provide a solid foundation for sustained success," Sutton said, who also will serve as chairman of the 2012 conference.

Cheryl Babcock, Director, Executive Education & International Institute for Franchise Education (IIFE) and Executive Director, International Society of Franchising (ISoF), expressed that Sutton is the perfect choice for heading up this particular conference.

"Scott has been an exemplary chair of the International Institute for Franchise Education's 6th annual Emerging Franchisor Conference (EFC)," she said. "Through his involvement and leadership, the EFC has reached new heights in attendance, sponsorships and enhanced program content. Scott was instrumental in helping to make this year's EFC the best ever. Feedback we've received has been overwhelmingly positive, and we've received glowing remarks from many of our attendees. We look forward to EFC 2012, and we're confident that with Scott at the helm, it will be even more expansive and impressive."

Additionally, Michelle Popelka, CFE, Safeguard's Vice President of Sales, and Deno Scoular, CFE, Safeguard's Director of Franchise Development, were featured as distinguished speakers at the conference, held November 10–11 at the H. Wayne Huizenga School at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

"I have attended this conference in the past, and what amazes me is the progression of some of the concepts I saw at past meetings. They're no longer concepts. Now they're on their way to becoming brands," Popelka said.

The Emerging Franchisor Conference (EFC) is designed to address the challenges and opportunities unique to franchise systems with 300 or fewer franchisees. Aimed at founders, CEOs, COOs, presidents, key senior staff members, entrepreneurs and potential franchisors, the EFC is a prime networking and educational conference for franchisors that are ready to grow their systems. The EFC provides peer-based, tested ideas that work, hands-on learning filled with take-home value, and an unparalleled networking opportunity.

"Many new franchisors have no idea where to begin as they launch into the world of franchising," Scoular said. "This conference is designed to help them navigate the challenging landscape and learn how to grow the right way."
